bliss in the garden

Next to the auburn depths of autumn, this time of year is just mind-boggling to me. The wonder unfolding in my garden is healing, calming and uplifting... and frequently causes little gasps of delight.

I love how my beloved Japanese maples are popping with leaf... their leaves unfurl like little newborn cups, all weak and droopy - then stretch and grow into vibrant hands, hovering on stepped-levels that delight the eye.

I love how our conifers and box hedge bust with new growth, ready to be snipped away cleanly into hedgerly shapes. I love how the azaleas are shouting brightly from their beds, and I am on serious standby for the hellebores, waiting patiently for their little capped bonnets to sprout amongst the leaves.

Enjoy this peek at a garden I love so very much.

Reminds me, I really have to do some work on mine...it has a more 'wild' look:)
