more on our Sydney weekend - photography


I love going away. It's not only because it invariably means far more one-on-one time with the family than we have at home, but it means I have a chance to stop barrelling my eyeballs down a computer screen and barrell them down the viewfinder of a camera instead.

I wanted to experiment with different techniques while we were away - I'm certainly no expert and have no idea what I'm doing in a technical sense, but I wanted to play with light and movement on this Sydney trip. I'm loving shooting in direct sunlight and into the sunshine of late, and I wanted to create some really light shots, with light midtones, too. I also wanted to get lots of action shots, with both medium and high shutter speed {I'll feature some more action shots in am upcoming post}.

Lastly, I wanted to experiment with flash in bright daylight {with low ISO}, and medium ISO with both flash and no flash at night. It made for an interesting collection of images {the stunning flowers are from the gorgeous Paul Macdonald from The Children's Bookshop}. Here are some . . .
