Garden Refurbishment

Sunday 2 August 2009

We've just done a garden Walkabout.

Yes, we got pen and paper and we toured our front and back gardens - me, Husband and the kids - and we decided What To Do.

Spring must be about to spring.

So, here is our list of things to do in the coming weeks.

FRONT YARD

  • plant more box hedge to round off a garden bed
  • feed box hedge and agapanthus
  • prune iceberg roses
  • clear leaves from beds
  • add more Red Baron in the bed beneath the Japanese maple

Red Baron

  • dig out around pavers in the courtyard off our bedroom and lay down white pebble
  • put a triangular shade sail over the decking leading off our bedroom
  • add a gorgeous table and chair set for an evening glass of summer wine

BACK YARD

  • think about getting a few chooks to fence in around the side of the shed, with the rabbits
  • plant French lavender all along the side of the shed, in full sun
  • weed vegie patch and decide on seedlings for a bountiful summer crop
  • buy a compost bin

  • put locks on both side gates
  • add worms to the vegie patch soil
  • prune and feed fruit trees
  • order mulch
  • buy a BBQ
  • add more white pebbling near back decking, under Japanese maple ornamentals

We've got a lot of work ahead of us. Lucky we - all four of us - find this blissful. All the bulbs are coming up, buds are forming on the trees and it's such an exciting time of year in the garden.

Footnote: the pictures featured in this post are NOT found at my house. But they WILL be found in the house of our future. I'll post pics of our garden as things progress into spring...
