When we came home from Beijing nearly four years ago, we had a new house to fill. We had a mass of furniture from Beijing but with two living areas in the new house, we needed a new sofa. Probably exceedingly tired from the pack-up and travel home and buying a new house site-unseen, we fell headlong into the biggest, cushiest modular monster you've ever seen. Soft, comfy, enormous - the snuggle factor was high. So we brought that great clunking monster home.
I loved that modular, the kids loved that modular - many a loll was taken on that modular - but for the past couple of years I've wanted something much lighter in our main living area - much brighter, much more chic.
When I espied these sofas in a Plush catalogue recently, the hyperventilating quickly went out of control. We're about to travel for over 5 weeks, so buying new sofas is not something we really should be doing, but thanks to ebay, I managed to sell our modular to a gorgeous family - and these new sofas were not at all expensive.
Happy happy win win.
I'm hyperventilating again this morning. I LOVE them. They really allow much more light and air into the room and I feel like my living area is finally a really pretty living area, rather than a place to just slouch.
So - let's get onto the reveal!
before . . .
after . . .
I'm off to make myself a latte - and sit and read the latest donna hay magazine. Isn't a beautiful living space vital to feeling inspired and uplifted? I'm one happy chickadee.

Hey Tania, had to come across and have a look. The couch, rug and glass coffee table look lovely!
ReplyDeleteQuestion for you: how have you guys attached your xmas lights to your ceiling? I love those lights and usually see them outside but your idea of hanging them inside looks lovely also.

Hi Lucinda! Thanks so much for popping over and for your lovely comments. I just used pin board tacks with clear heads on them - and pushed them into the wall up high, securing the light strands. The pins are usually quite small so the holes left behind are pretty tiny.
ReplyDeleteT:)
It's lovely Tania. I also adore a string of lights for inside decor.
ReplyDeleteNoice!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. I love the birdcage and flourish-y bits in the 4th picture down. The ones done in white leading out from the doorway. How did you do that, and where on earth did you get such a creative idea?
ReplyDeleteHi Sonarisa - thanks for your lovely comments. The birdcages and flourish are just removable wall stickers. I wanted to put something on that massive expanse of curved wall, but of course, nothing would lie flat! So a sticker was the only option. I think it pops even more once all the Christmas decorations are down. :)
ReplyDeleteTania -love your space and it looks so Christmassy! We put up indoor lights a bit like this this year. We used non permanent 3M clear hooks. They have a rubbery thing behind them, at the end of the season you pull down on the rubbery bit and the hook comes away without damaging the paintwork. Has worked for us so far ... Didn't think of using pin board tacks!
ReplyDeleteHappy lounging and reading. :-)
