A long and arduous year comes to an end and simplicity and a return-to-real-life has never been more important (and in poll position on my wish list).
This year has been groundhog-day horrid for all of us, and coupled with a LOT of change and other happenings in our life, it's been an extra difficult 12 months for the McCartney household.
There is sunshine on the horizon, though. Next year will be consistently busy but not in that break-my-back kind of way (as was the last five years or so). Then 2023 will be dawn-breaking and hopefully, hopefully, we will all be able to hop on planes and boats and trains, en masse, by then.
I honestly think the lack of travel is a big part of the misery these past two years. And dirty windows. We have a lovely fellow here cleaning the buggery out of ours as I type. Early Christmas present.
Anyhoo - just a quick pop-in to say hi and thank you for your patience as I 'disappear' a little from my blog and social media and events. It's time to take a big step back and focus on the real world a while. But not to worry - books will still be coming!
Next year I'm delighted to have a few books coming - cover reveals soon.
Mrs Koala's Beauty Parlour out in February - a collab with amazing YA author Catherine Jinks (Working Title Press/HarperCollins)...
In May, book 2 of Plume is out - it's called Global Nibbler (Hardie Grant Explore) and I wonder if you can guess the theme...In November, it will be book 3 of Plume - more on that soon...
I'm also really excited to be having some extra Plume products on the way these coming years - I'll reveal more when I can, but all very exciting!
I leave you with a peek at my annual Christmas decs - each year is even more simple, and I love it that way. Looking back at the years I used to spend decorating every single surface, inside and out - exhausts me just thinking about it.
Our daughter moved out of home last month and we're overjoyed for her - what a thrill to watch our kids fly. It's also been a driver for upending our house and cleaning it out. It's been overwhelming, massively long overdue and hugely rewarding, hinting at the exciting changes in the years to come.
Wishing you an uplifted and vibrant 2022. We're veterans at navigating this world now, are we not? Let's pluck and choose the parts that work for us, inspire and enrich us. That's what I wish for you this Christmas.
