Who does not, in their right mind, love a cupcake? And what better excuse to bake, decorate and nibble on one that to raise money for the RSPCA?
The biggest bake-off in the Southern Hemisphere is now here - Cupcake Day for the RSPCA is a wonderful opportunity to raise funds to help sick, abandoned and abused animals. Last year, over 250,000 cupcakes were iced, decorated and sold across Australia, and this important organisation aims to slam that number in 2009.
With the 500 cupcakes we have for sale this morning, Ella and I are hoping to add to the tally. It took us 10 hours of straight baking and decorating yesterday to achieve this amount (with the added bonus of cakes baked by the gorgeous Jenn and Barb).
I think I have broken my back and gone blind after yesterday's efforts, but I'd do it all again to raise funds for the RSPCA. The car is jammed to the ceiling with trays of devastatingly beautiful cakes. Just check out this illustrious collection, sure to tempt any kid worth their sugary salt...
HUGE THANKS to Jenn and Barb, who, despite incredibly hectic weekends, still found the time to commit some of their own additions to this project. Ella and I are so grateful. Thanks to Izzy, Ella and Riley for their decorating expertise - knowing how to decorate in a style kids will LOVE! Thanks also to Jerra Public for allowing us to sell the cakes to a huge batch of hungry kids.
