I recently posted on this magnificent poisson quilt and was inspired to photograph the few quilts I've made for the kids.
This is Ella's quilt made from vintage and reproduction fabric finds on eBay and pinstripe cottons found in Beijing. It was so much fun to make it. It's actually not a true quilt, but rather a doona (comforter/duvet) cover. I gave it a broderie anglais border and a pink stripe backing. It has matching pillows in the pink stripe.
The smaller throw quilt I made is a collection of smaller retro prints in blue, white and cherry red. I backed it with red and white children's toile and edged with white satin.
It might not be perfect but don't we treasure these things? Made with so much love and smooches.
