Private Book Club Reading of Beijing Tai Tai

Monday, 31 August 2009

I experienced one of the most surreal nights of my life on 21 August - at Tiffenville - aka Jenny Tiffen's white palace in Red Hill.

Not only was the house a fortress of lusciousness, with orchids and a roaring fire and divine food prepped by talented foodster, Patrick, but a gaggle of gorgeous girls soon converged on site to make up 35 people, including Jen's lovely husband Gerard and littlies Bridie and Chase.

After a good old natter and meet-and-greet with a bunch of book lovers who had ALL read Beijing Tai Tai... I sat to read some chapters and then discuss both the book and our family's life in China.

What a glorious evening of chatting and sharing - it was so fascinating to hear feedback on Beijing Tai Tai and to answer such interesting questions from these amazing women, who make Book Clubs sooooo cool.

Thank you to everyone from MOB and The Worms for making me feel so monumentally warm and welcome. It is truly a night I will never forget.

And huge thanks to the superlative Jenny who put on such an incredible evening... and for her endless support of my work. Love ya, Jen. x
