Kids from all over Canberra converged at Dalton's from 2pm where they ran amok with yellow balloons (Dahl's favourite colour) and listened in rapt awe as I read them the master's work - excerpts from The Enormous Crocodile and Revolting Rhymes (well, rapt awe and bursts of laughter!).
The enormous crocodile even rested on my shoulder during the reading. I also seemed to have grown a duck's beak from the centre of my forehead. But that, of course, hardly phased these nonsensical Roald Dahl fans.
After readings, we gave away some fabulous prizes from some wonderful sponsors:Huge thanks to Penguin Australia, Adrian Haynes from Coerver Coaching, Paula Kos from little living, Michelle Williams from Poppy Bean & Bloss, Rebecca Vavic from Reva, Charlie from Daltons and to all the parents and kids who made this day so special.
And finally, kudos to the totally Dahl-addicted Dalton's bookstore owner, Meredith Wright for a sensational literary day. Looking forward to the next kids' event at Dalton's!

Hi Tanya
My boys had a great time at this party. You have a picture of Seth and Trai Beasley here. I think you also took one of my younger son Finn Beasley not looking quite so happy (even though he had lots of fun too. If you did, would you mind emailling it to me at nicole@criticalyears.com
thanks
Nicole
