I love unique ideas for kids' parties that are easy to organise and make the celebration even more memorable. Photographing our children's party guests and family is often something we fail to do in the chaos of the party, yet documenting these people can make the most precious of memories.
Sandy over at The Winding Road - a gorgeous blogspot - shows us that creating snapshot memories is as easy as 1 - 2 - 3 - cheese! All you need is a simple backdrop - a textured wall, a piece of interesting fabric, a large sheet of coloured card. Try to use a background that reflects, not absorbs light (like plants or trees, which don't work as well).
Then line up your subjects and get snapping!
Try to keep the mood light and not too posey - and props in your party's theme are ideal for making this happen. Also - set up your photo spot in an area with lots of natural, indirect sunlight, avoiding use of the flash if possible.
Happy birthday to you!

Hey Tania, I've been going through all your birthday party blog posts to steal ideas for Miss About-To-Turn-Seven. This is a great idea! And that gallery shot would look great printed as a thankyou postcard to send to the guests after.
Hope Miss 7 has a glorious party, Em! x
