Government House Open Day

Saturday, 13 March 2010

A fabulous family fun day out - tomorrow, Sunday 14 March 2010, Canberra's magnificent Government House will host The Smith Family's annual fundraiser to raise money for underpriveleged children.

The Smith Family provides educational and learning programmes to over 65,000 young people in Australia - kids who could not ordinarily afford such an education. This vital work is priceless to many disadvantaged families, and we welcome your support at this wonderful event.

Families can enjoy plenty of fantastic entertainment including a jumping castle, pony rides, face-painting, musical performances and lots of delicious local produce at the food and beverage stalls. There will also be the exclusive opportunity to see the magnificence of Government House and its beautiful grounds - so rarely open to the public.

There'll even be a spectacular display by the The Red Beret International Australian Paratroop Association, and of course, a storytelling marquee with local authors Ingrid Jonach and Tania McCartney (- that's me!). Illustrator David Murphy will also be reading, so come on down to the storytelling marquee. I will be on at 11am and 12pm, plus I'll be signing books.

Come along and enjoy this amazing day out. Click the flyer above for more.
