Kids Book Review takes part in the green books campaign

Wednesday 10 November 2010

Over at Kids Book Review, we love Eco-Libris (www.ecolibris.net). They are a green organisation working to green up the book industry by promoting the adoption of green practices in the book industry, balancing out the papery creation of books by planting more trees... and supporting 'green' books.

Like I said, we love it.

And KBR is thrilled to have been invited to participate in this year's Green Books Campaign. This, the second annual campaign, will see the simultaneous publication of 200 book reviews... of books that have been printed on either recycled or FSC-certified paper. The Eco-Libris campaign will use the power of the internet and social media to promote books that are printed in an eco-friendly manner.

Reviews will be posted at 1pm North American EST on Wednesday 10 November - which will be 4am Thursday 11 November, Australian EST. So grab your cornflakes tomorrow morning (11 November) and head on over to KBR where Megan and I will be posting our review of Into the Deep. We're hoping to get as many hits as possible, and make this review a Top Hit on KBR.

A full list of participating blogs and links to their reviews is available on Eco-Libris website. KBR encourages you to read and enjoy the book reviews posted on the Eco-Libris site and so help promote and foster a greater green book stance in the world. Congratulations to Black Dog Books for their participation with Into the Deep.

If you want to get involved (the team have already doubled their blogger participation since last year), head to the website and chat with the lovely people organising this amazing initiative. The 2009 campaign saw more than 15,000 readers, with very positive feedback from publishers, bloggers and readers.
