berry blast shake

Here is another breakfast shake or meal replacement that will make your body sing (and zing). It's berry-based, low-fat, and packed with fibre and protein. A fantastic breakfast replacement if you are looking to burn some fat.

Just look at that anti-oxidant-enriched colour. It's also surprisingly filling.

Whiz together:

1/2 cup frozen berries
1/2 cup low fat Greek yoghurt
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tsp chia seeds
1 tablespoon ABC (or tahini) spread
2 massively heaped tsp protein powder
a pinch or two of nutmeg

This does NOT need sweetening, and indeed - if you add sugar of any kind, you will defeat the purpose of this shake and its muscle-building (and therefore fat-burning) capacity. Think of your muscles as the 'engine' of your body - that burns any fuel (including stored fat). The bigger your muscles, the bigger the fat-burning capacity.

Filling, delicious, majorly nutritional, muscle-building. Just drink it.

*ABC spread (almond, brazil, cashew) and tahini (sesame seed spread) are available at health food stores and supermarkets.
