What a lovely time we had at the National Library this morning - celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime. At 11am, Ben from the NLA read Nick Bland's The Very Cranky Bear (with very effective roaring) to an engaged young audience.
Soon after, I read Riley and the Grumpy Wombat, then Stephanie Owen Reeder read from her beautiful NLA books, followed by Susan Hall, publisher and author at the Library, who both read and sang a rousing rendition of Incy Wincy Spider.
It was then some book signings and downstairs for a series of fun activities for the kids. What better way to spend a bright and sunshiny morning in Canberra? Gotta love books.
