paper mobile bliss
Friday, 13 December 2013
I'm going through a bit of a 'phase'. Not sure what kind of phase it is, but suspect it's a small part of a grander scheme that seems to be overhauling my world from my toenails to my existential self way up in the heavens there.
Part of this process has seen the inherent need to drag out the Good China, and both utilise and enjoy the beautiful objects and memories I've enjoyed over the years.
I'm a big lover of paper in all its incarnations, and papercrafting is one of my favourite things to do, along with creating travel and memory books.
This paper mobile began as a sort of 3D memories showcase for a series of random objects, from cards to giant confetti to stickers to paint colour sample cards to past book projects to other objets de papier that seem to wangle their way into my life, accepted with ravenous gratitude.
Why shut them in a box? Why not have them strung up and catching the breeze and spinning their beauty into the room for all to enjoy?
I have to admit, I'm going to be a little selfish and move this into my writing studio as soon as I can find a big enough ceiling hook, but for now, the entire family can enjoy it in our family room. I may even add to it over time.
Paper bliss.
