easter is coming . . .

Friday 8 April 2011

I've been having a bit of a sad spell of late - lots of terrible loss going on in the world - both internationally and in my own backyard, and it's sometimes tough to drag yourself through the fog and into the light.

Sensing some major blues, my darling Husband brought me home some yellow. I put them into a sunshiney jug and added a newly-acquired rabbit (Bed, Bath and Table) and it all looked suddenly so Eastery.

It made me smile.

Soon the kids will be on school hols and we'll be revelling in this precious time of year. Last year I was 'too busy' to decorate for Easter but this year I've realised I'll pretty much be busy for the rest of my life, so I'm just going to make the time to decorate. Stay tuned for some Eastery house scenes.

Are you decorating this Easter?

I love your yellow, Tanya! Also love how artfully you have arranged the leaves of the tulips. One of them even follows the ear of the rabbit. If you didn't do it deliberately, then it's your natural ability to design, your artist eye. :)
I hope things pick up for you soon.

Beautiful flowers, and that little rabbit is so cute!

I'm not great at the decorating side of things, but we're heading away over Easter and I'm planning a big Easter lunch of homemade Hot Cross Buns and lovely things... including chocolate of course!

Hope you get out of your 'funk' soon, I know I've been in one, and there are other bloggers going through similiar things, and no doubt lots of people around the world, and in our own lives, who are dealing with alot of stuff right now. I am making time to work on my inner resilience. Great attitude Tania, so true, we'll always be busy with something... it's important that some of those things are fun & joy for our kids and ourselves.

You gorgeous girls, thank you.

Dixie - I am also working on my inner resilience. Sometimes we have to make choices for self-preservation and I SO SO respect that.

It's just so very wise, especially when there is so much that has the capacity to disable us or try to pull us down or hurt us... even inexplicably try to hurt us. It can be quite toxic.

I have such an innate trust in the good in people but alas, it's so oftentimes missing - it can get quite depressing, but we just have to make careful choices about who to let into our lives, who to trust, then rise up and carry on!

You have replaced your blues with yellow. Gorgeous.
I hope that smile stays on your face and just remember there will always be jerk faces. Their karma is ... they will always be a jerk face. (That helps me when people disappoint or hurt me)
