in conversation with graeme base

TONIGHT I will be in conversation with author/illustrator extraordinaire, Graeme Base, at Paperchain Bookstore in Manuka. Graeme is visiting Canberra to promote his beautiful new book - Little Elephants - yet another magical tale from one of Australia's best-loved book creators.

The wheat is ripe, but the harvester is broken and a plague of locusts is on the way. It looks as if Jim and his mother may lose the farm. But when Jim show kindness to a stranger, their fortunes are set to change in the most surprising way imaginable!

Graeme is the creator of bestselling favourites Animalia, The Legend of The Golden Snail and The Jewel Fish of Karnak. It's a joy to welcome him to the capital and chat with him about the inspiration behind his new book, among other things!

Don't miss your chance to meet this wonderful creator - and perhaps even have a book signed. I'm honoured to have the chance to meet Graeme and learn more about him - and I must admit, I'm also excited to finally meet Penguin publicist Tina, after all this time conducting a virtual relationship!

There has been a phenomenal spate of visiting authors and illustrators in Canberra of late. I do hope to see you there . . . 6pm at Paperchain - click here for more details, and make sure you RSVP.
