riley and the curious koala launch party glimpse!

Sunday 21 November 2010

Here is just a taste of the amazing launch party we had at Dalton's bookstore here in Canberra today... thanks to the superlative stylings of friend and photographic talent (among other talents!) Jen Leheny of Red Instead for these stunning photos. Jen manages to capture the most unscripted, precious moments - it's love. Thanks, Jen!
Huge thanks to Meredith from Dalton's for offering up her gorgeous store, for the lovely Charlie for helping us set up (and clean up!) and for providing much comic relief with a pantomime-style koala-on-a-stick appearance half way through the reading! Thanks also Steve Whisker from Kelly Sports who so generously entertained the kids with a series of amazing circus-like activities - Steve is the epitome of fun and loveliness.

My eternal thanks, too, to my fabulous prize sponsors - you can see their logos at the end of this post - for being so generous with an array of stunning books - and one lucky winner even snaffled a Kelly Sports party! Sponsor Jennie McClelland from Posie Patchwork has posted on her blog about the event, too - and it was quite hilarious that her daughter busted her for getting stuck into the chocolate cupcakes whilst dieting! Too much temptation!

This is just a taste of the fun we had at the launch... I will post another longer version in a few days... so you can share in the fun we had. Book launches are so much fun! The kids had a ball but can you tell I had fun, too?

PS: if you like any of these photos, Jen Leheny is going to offer digital copies on her site, soon, at a wonderful price. More details in the next blog post!

All hail to my glorious launch sponsors and hosts...

A percentage of sales from Riley and the Curious Koala will be donated to the Australian Koala Foundation. Help save our koalas - donate or foster a fuzzy critter now.

Oh look at my boy with his Koala mask on (he actually brought home a spare & is cutting it out now) & then tucking into that cake!! Ah, look at that baby boy i'm holding, made by Rosalind of Grace Designs!! What a joy. Those signs are super cute & FYI the posts are being recycled in the Grace family's tomato patch, long live Riley forever!! Love Posie
