chinese fish kite

Isn't it amazing how Christmaslike life becomes when you rediscover treasures in your cupboards (or more like in my case - in the junk piles that was once our garage right before cleanout).
During our final week in Beijing, I visited a local market that was going out of business and snaffled a couple of last minute treasures to bring home. One was this exquisite fabric kite in the shape of a fish, completely handmade with fragile strips of bamboo and rolling cardboard eyes.
I gently unpacked it and hung it in Riley's room where it makes me smile every time I walk in.
Why hide beautiful objects away? What are you hiding that you really should have on show?
