Imagine having a song written for you.
My dear friend Mary has. Her talented daughter Laura Kahle is a jazz musician (the trumpet is her poison) and phenomenal composer - and she has written the delicate, layered and secretly funky 'Mary Rose' for her mum, which was recently performed by the Brandee Younger Trio in NYC.
Laura is currently living in New York with her boyfriend Jeff 'Tain' Watts, living-legend jazz muso, and it's so exciting to see her producing beautiful work.
Sooooo jealous. Of all of the above (esp the NYC thing, and the jazz thing). Another life goal to add to the list: have a song written about me. Oh - and learn to sing like Ella Fitzgerald.
